About Baby Steps
BABY STEPS BABIES!

Why do parents need a little extra TLC?
When you are expecting a new baby, friends and family will shower you with phrases like, “This will be the happiest time of your life!” or “You are so blessed, enjoy every moment”. This is all true, AND it is also one of the hardest times of your life. Everything is new, emotions are strong, sleep is scarce, and it's a lot of work! At Baby Steps we believe that you shouldn’t go through the postpartum period alone. Parents who have support and guidance during the first weeks and months with a newborn, and are able to take the time to rest and recover, are able to not only survive, but thrive.
Baby Steps New Parent Care offers new parent success coaching, in-home postpartum doula care, virtual consultations and follow-ups, prenatal preparation and education, and corporate perinatal programs. We can support you throughout your transition into parenthood.

Our Mission
We help new parents thrive during the postpartum period by strengthening growing families with support and guidance after the arrival of a new baby.

About
Amanda Hemm
Amanda, founder of Baby Steps New Parent Care, is a certified coach, postpartum doula, and lactation educator. With a professional, compassionate approach, she works with couples to customize support to their unique situation. Amanda has been a postpartum doula since 2014 and has worked with more than a hundred families. She also founded NAMMA Families, a local perinatal professional network, and has extensive knowledge of resources available to families during pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
Amanda’s philosophy is that there are many ways to create and raise a family. Everyone will approach parenting in the way that works best for them, and that is beautiful. She will support your methods and offer evidence-based guidance as requested. Amanda values a strong community connection and will work with you to help you find your community.
Additionally, Amanda co-founded Soutiens with Sarah Douglas. Together they consult with companies about improving support for expectant employees and working parents.
Amanda lives in Maynard with her husband Justin, and kids, Anna and Lucas, their pup, Josie, and bearded dragon, Tony. She enjoys traveling “home” to Vermont, being outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her family.
